BC is one of the most generous provinces in Canada. We give our time and money to charity because we care about those less fortunate than ourselves.
And yet, BC has had one of the highest poverty rates in Canada for the last 15 years. There are almost 600,000 people in our province desperately trying to make ends meet and keep their heads above water. It's clearly time for a different approach.
Many services only provide short-term relief for the downstream symptoms of poverty like hunger but we need long-term solutions that go upstream to fix the root causes of poverty and change the system.
Support the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition and our member groups in tackling the root causes of poverty and changing people's lives. With your help, we can end poverty in BC.
Your contribution will be used to fund the activities of the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition, Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC, First Call: BC Child and Youth Advocacy Coalition, Raise the Rates, the Single Mothers' Alliance, and Canada Without Poverty.
