Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Simon Fraser University, where she majored in Psychology and minored in Kinesiology. Prior to joining VCF, she worked as a Member Services Centre agent at Vancity credit union, gaining firsthand experience in member engagement and financial service support.

Along with her financial background, she brings over 10 years of experience in support work and over 5 years of experience in the non-profit sector, where she has been deeply engaged in community outreach, coordination and administrative operations. Her overall professional background reflects her strong commitment to equity, advocacy and community well-being - values that inform her role as Donor Relations Coordinator.

As a second generation immigrant of Haitian descent, Vanessa brings an intersectional lens to her work, grounded in lived experience and a deep respect for community. She is grateful to live, work and play on the unceded and ancestral lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys travelling, spending time at home with her spouse, and hanging out with her Frenchie, George Albert.
