Nutritionlink Services Society Endowment Fund
Nutritionlink Services Society Endowment Fund supports and sponsors food security projects through nutrition education and food skill building for vulnerable BC residents.
NutritionLink Services Society (NLS) is a non-profit society incorporated under the Societies Act of BC. NutritionLink is also a registered charitable organization able to issue tax receipts for donations made to us. The Society is run by a volunteer board of Registered Dietitians and other British Columbians with a keen interest in nutrition. NLS maintains a relationship with the Ministry of Health to support provincial food and nutrition-related projects.
Our History
NutritionLink Services Society was first incorporated on January 21, 1993 under the name of Dial-A-Dietitian Nutrition Information Society of B.C. The official name change occurred on September 8th, 2005. The Society was established to support the Dial-A-Dietitian Nutrition Information Line. The Society's Board has provided a strong link to the dietetic community and through its strategic thinking have identified opportunities, written proposals and supported the substantial growth and development of the nutrition call centre and the expansion of its services. Our flagship program, Dial-A-Dietitian transitioned to HealthLines Services BC in 2008.
The change of our name to NutritionLink Services Society from Dial-A-Dietitian Nutrition Information Society of BC reflects the new purpose and future of the Society from one that focused on one major program to one with a more diverse strategy.
