Thelma's Freedom Fund

Thelma and her chicken buddies Betty, Veronica, and Louise were rescued when the rest of their barn of 30,000 egg-laying hens were sent to slaughter. 

After a life of hellish servitude in a tiny filthy cage, these lucky hens were able to retire to a life of scratching, dust bathing, sunning, breathing fresh air and roaming at their new oceanside home on Gabriola Island – activities they thoroughly enjoyed.

This Fund is dedicated in their honor to other human and non-human animals who are victims of injustice, or perhaps just need some support because of circumstances beyond their control.
