How Social Enterprise Connects People with Jobs & Jobs with People

Published by the Enterprising Non-Profits program in 2014 and funded in whole or part through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Development Agreement, Success Themes in Supportive Employment describes the key practices of employment social enterprises (ESEs) that have been successful employing people who face multiple barriers to employment.

The report is based on interviews with 50 well-established employment social enterprises and explored:

  1. best practices,
  2. models,
  3. systems, and
  4. supportive frameworks.

Enterprising Non-Profits was a collaborative program housed at Vancity Community Foundation between 2000 and 2015 that promoted and supported social enterprise development and growth as a means to build strong non-profit organizations and healthier communities.
