Founded in 1989 on the belief that if we work together we will have the resources we need to build a thriving community, Vancity Community Foundation brings together donors, social investors, funders and community organizations to create the economic, social, and environmental conditions to collectively thrive.

Join us in this transformational journey.
Together, we will develop a giving strategy that’s right for you and your support will be part of a shared commitment to a future that is more affordable, resilient, just, and inclusive.

Open a Kinship Fund to create an individual or family legacy of giving in support of critical community needs while recognizing that community organizations are best able to identify priorities and determine the use of funds. Give to Featured Programs

The BC Living Wage for Families and BC Rent Bank are both projects of Vancity Community Foundation that help address affordability across the province of BC.

The Living Wage for Families BC encourages employers to pay a living wage as well as advocates for government policies that would help families make ends meet. A living wage is the hourly amount families need to cover basic expenses.

BC Rent Bank is a backbone organization providing funding to the provincial rent bank network and supporting rent bank partners with technology, resources, and training. Their mission is to develop an interconnected network of eviction prevention and housing stability services that reduces new instances of homelessness among renters in British Columbia.

Stories of Change
Nancy Hawkins and Bill Bargeman Fund
A fair world. Social justice. Thoughtful participation. These ideals inspire the generous giving of Bill Bargeman and Nancy Hawkins, retired teachers and union leaders who established a Donor Advised Fund through Vancity Community Foundation in 2014.
Catalyst Community Developments
No money changed hands. A contract was signed to acquire 31 new units of below market rental housing in the City of Richmond, BC. And all of the players received what they wanted in the ultimate win-win-win scenario for non-profit housing in this province.
Surrey Homelessness and Housing Society
In September 2017, a once-notorious establishment in Surrey, where sirens had rung out daily and women were profoundly exploited, underwent an incredible transformation with support from the Surrey Homelessness and Housing Society, which provided a $75,000 responsive grant for much-needed renovations.
