Sector Equity for Anti-Racism in the Arts Fund

Sector Equity for Anti-Racism in the Arts (SEARA) is a movement of Black, Indigenous, and racialized BC-based artists and cultural workers to redistribute resources through data-driven action.

Beginning as a consortium of arts service organizations in the wake of COVID-19, the BLM and Land Back movements, SEARA raised and distributed $319,000 in microgrants to BIPOC artists and cultural workers in BC. Today, SEARA is focusing on community-led research towards policy development and advocacy addressing systemic racism in BC's Arts, Culture and Heritage sector.
